The axle is a mildly hardended unit (you do not want it so hard that it shatters) that includes the safety cleets, flared tensioning nuts and the spacers to properly position the rim/bearing assembly. These are very hardy units but we have seen some fail (read bent after destroying the rim along with the fork assemblies) after some serious off roading, slaming into walls and sidewalks at high speed. These units were never designed for anything other than paved roads and gentile manners so let's be careful out there. |
