These are very strong aluminum castings. BUT they were never designed for jumping, trick riding, overly strong side loads or excessive weight. The only ones we have ever seen fail were because of some one doing all of the things we say not to do. The tire fits very snug onto this rim and you need to use a good lubricant when putting the tire on the rim or you are going to pinch the tube and rip the rubber coating around the sealing bead. For those of you that are faint of heart, value your knuckles or hate to ruin that salon manicure, we offer the rim including bearings with a tube and tire already mounted (es7070172). This works out cheaper than buying the parts by themselves and sure beats the heck out of doing it yourself. The correct tire to use is a 12.5 X 2.25. |
